This class will focus on examining concepts, theories, and research methods relevant to the Latinx community, primarily from the perspective of social psychology. The course will focus on Latinx Americans living in the United States, although many of the topics will include Latinx Americans living in their home countries, as well. Specific topics (e.g., culture, prejudice, immigration) will be covered throughout the semester using media, first-hand narratives, and classic/contemporary readings.
