This PSAE Pre- University English Course is an introduction to
first-year English at the Faculty of General Studies of The University of Puerto Rico in Rio
Piedras. The course will offer the students insight into how English classes are conducted,
the necessary reading, writing, and critical thinking skills, what the university is looking for in
its students and how to be successful in the English Class. The course seeks to help
students prepare and use their ability to think logically, read actively, write clearly, and
develop information literacy competencies. Students are encouraged to communicate with
their professors and are motivated to enjoy learning in a diverse and challenging
environment to become successful students of the UPRRP.
