This course will define and analyze the concept of Smart Cities. Smart cities as a concept is normally associated with the extensive and pervasive use of technology to enhance the quality of life of its inhabitants. From the perspective of quality of life, the smart cities concept must be approached from an organic view of all its components: the people, the utilities, the infrastructure and the technology, all within the sustainability, social and political frameworks in which these components are immersed.
